[58] A letter from Tini (43) from Leewarden dated 5 May 1996 told of how Jantje, they all call her Jannie, was very ill having lung problems where she can breathe in but has trouble breathing out, doctors can not find the reason.
She has to take a medicine called "Pretnison". She also is a diabetic and has to have insulin injections to keep her blood sugar levels in ballance. She was on the maximum dose daily and became very ill, the sugar level was very wrong and she had to drink 2 glasses of juice, with sugar in it, or she would have gone into a coma.
One night it all went wrong. She felt as though she was poisoned and the amount of insulin has now been reduced. She looks as though she is obese and swollen, this is not because of her eating habits but due to the medication.
A further letter dated 9 January 1997 said that the "pretnison" drug did not help as it is poison for her body and dangerous for the sugar diabetes. She should be off this drug about March 1997 and a big improvement in her well-being is expected.
Further information from Tini shows that Jannie did not recover and she passed away 8 February 1997.
