[639] Norma Wilson adds, her father Hosea Medhurst son of Laban lived at Martindale Ceek and was a farmer, working for his father. There were no tracktors, milking machines, irrigation or even electricity. All the family helped with the farm work. Hosea played the violin and was always very popular at house parties and dances. By the time the family had grown up, World War 2 had broken out and several of the family joined the forces whilst others married and moved away.
