Obituary of Mr. William Davis.
The late Mr. Davis, whose demise occured 8.1.1920 was born at Wollonbi 1832. He wedded the second daughter of the late John and Sarah Medhurst of that town.
After making the trip up country in bollock drays, in 1863 he landed at Inverell and was one of the first settlers to take up land in this district under the Sir John Robertson Land Act. Later he disposed of his interest and moved to Glen Innes where he resided till his death.
In both districts, he did a good deal of pioneering work, and his residence was always marked by straight-dealings and Honesty-traits of character, which have always been marked in the early settlers of this state.
