Jeremiah Diplock arrived aboard H.M. Store Ship "Coromandel" which saled from England in 1819, called at Hobart Town and arrived in Sydney 4 April 1820 with 300 convicts on board.
Jeremiah was sentenced for 7 years
Native Place:- Sussex. Labourer, age 22 years, Height 5' 4",
Complexion = Fair/medium, Hair = Brown, Eye = Hazel
Certificate of Freedom No. 60/5577 dated 10 August 1826.
Though Jeremiah had gained his freedom, Sarah had not yet completed her sentence, hence Jeremiah had been obliged to obtain the Governor's consent to their marriage. This was granted on the 20 September 1831 and they were married on 24 October 1831 at Maitland in the School House.
By 1843 the family had moved to Wollombi where Jeremiah acquired two adjacent 100 acre portions in the Parish of Yango on the left bank of the Wollombi Brook, about 2 miles down stream from Wollombi.
Later his son John acquired several portions in Hay where neighbouring families included the Bellamy's.
