It is believed that after the death of his father Elijah 1st., Elijah, his brothers and Edward Medhurst went to the district of Gravesend, N.S.W. and either bought or just settled at Yagobie.
Further information to hand states, in 1877 Elijah 2nd., of Bogamilbi, reported the death of Charlie, an Aboriginal Stockman, who died at Gil Gil and was buried at Gil Gil by Elijah and John Maidens. He was residing at the Traveler's Rest Inn at Yagobie 1891. Gravesend, N.S.W. and Gravesend, England have similar name sakes, "Gravesend, Sussex Road or Lane" and many others.
